Starting with a raw asset
Collectors and enthusiasts from all hobbies and industries start off by collecting and acquiring assets. The Thrill of the Hunt is part of what makes this process so much fun.

Assests may represent rare items or collectables, or they might simply be items that bring joy and cherished memories to the owner. The word "Value" does not have a fixed meaning and has a different definition for each and every person.
The next step that most savvy collectors take is to get their asset appraised, authenticated, and/or graded. There are many companies that provide this service, so conduct your research and use the provider which best meets your needs and desires. Please be sure to use only reputable service providers and mitigate all risks which might jeopardize your asset.

Making your Digital Asset
In Person with Genalock, why?
There's a ton of theft and digital replication in our world. Unfortunately, many hobbies are saturated with crooks & thieves who utilize various forms of media and software to steal your assets. Genalock chooses to perform our services in-person to help reduce this problem. It's not our role to determine asset ownership, but you standing there in front of us (with the asset in your hand) helps mitigate some of that risk.

Genalock's Guarantee: We physically saw, held, and photographed the asset in-person when the asset's NFT was minted. We designed the NFT with the holder of the asset. The digital asset was transferred immediately to the asset holder's digital wallet, and its blockchain existence was verified on-the-spot. No exceptions, no loopholes, and no way to replicate what Genalock does with you in-person. Period.
In-Person Design
The first steps are to choose your Asset Class and select the Tier that you want to use for your NFT creation. Each Asset Class (Sports, TCG, Comics, etc.) has three Tiers to choose from which helps to categorize the options included with the NFT creation process. Having different Tiers also generates population uniqueness and rarity. Each Tier has different design features and options. Tier 1 is the most basic style and Tier 3 offers the most options for design. The Black Label and Global Reserve Collections are premium digital asset collections with limited global mints with additional design options.

Photographing your Asset
Once you've selected your Asset Class and Tier and submitted your payment, our next step is to photograph your asset. We utilize special HD cameras, lighting, and zoom features to capture a great photo of your asset.

Collecting the Data
Next, we'll utilize our custom data intake forms to capture all of the data and information associated with your asset. All of this data is important because it is the Metadata within the NFT that accompanies the actual image. Once minted, this data is permanent and cannot be edited, altered, or removed.
Creating your Solana Phantom Wallet
You may already have a Solana Phantom wallet installed on your mobile device and may know how to use it. If not, then we can help you create one! The process is simple, takes just a minute, and you will leave with the wallet keys in your hand. It's VERY important to protect your key (12-word security phrase called a "seed phrase"). This key confirms wallet ownership and should never be shared. It is used to retrieve your wallet's contents on any device, anywhere in the world.
Design Time!
With the photo and data in hand, we then retrieve your selected background and start designing the NFT. You can browse through the backgrounds as they are located on each Collection page.

Information is added to the visual portrait based on the Tier you selected, but all information is added to the Metadata on the blockchain. We'll spend about 10 minutes refining your design with you watching on a monitor as we build. We add your custom labels and text, select various frames to bring out the color and character of your asset, and transfer the Genalock Asset ID number (GAID) from the database to the NFT.
Confirmation and Minting
With a final design completed, we'll display the design to you for viewing. We'll make any final minor adjustments and then mint the NFT.
Digital Asset Transfer
Once minted, you will open your wallet and provide us with your Solana public wallet address. This is the unique publicly visible address that is assigned only to your wallet. It's your electronic mailbox address! Once received, we will transfer the NFT to your wallet and then confirm its arrival. NFTs are easy to find within your wallet and we'll show you how to access them if you are unfamiliar with the wallet.
Population Reports
Genalock's Population Reports are being built, and each minted NFT (the photo of the NFT and all metadata) is added to that asset collection's Pop Report. Users will be able to quickly sort, find, and display the data within a global collection of NFTs that represent ONLY appraised, authenticated, or graded assets. It will take some time to build this massive repository!

The entire process takes about 20 minutes, and once completed you'll be the proud owner of a 1/1 digital asset that represents a legitimately appraised, authenticated, or graded real world asset. You have 100% control of the asset and can sell, trade, and transfer the NFT at any time and build your digital asset collection.
